History Associates Incorporated, headquartered in Rockville, Maryland, announces the election of two new directors, Janet L. Norwood and Wendell M. Holloway. Dr. Norwood is a Senior Fellow at the Urban Institute, a policy-oriented research organization in Washington, D.C. She was appointed by President Clinton to chair the Advisory Council on Unemployment Compensation from 1993 to 1996, and she served as the U.S. Commissioner of Labor Statistics from 1979 to 1991. She is also a past president of the Cosmos Club in Washington, D.C., the first woman to have held that post. A graduate of the Douglass College of Rutgers University, Dr. Norwood holds advanced degrees from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Dr. Holloway is the interim President at Bowie State University, one of the oldest historically black universities in America. Between 1977 and 1995 he held executive-level positions with the Washington Staff of Ford Motor Company. Before accepting the post at Bowie State, Dr. Holloway also served on the Board of Regents at the University of Maryland and on the Montgomery County Board of Appeals. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Ohio Wesleyan University and holds a Ph.D. in Public Administration from the University of Southern California.
