History Associates wins a contract to process, preserve, and exhibit the papers of Dr. Hector P. Garcia, one of the most influential civil rights activists in Mexican American history.  The vast collection, housed at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s Bell Library, offers insight into the 20th century Mexican American experience and details how Dr. Garcia shaped that experience through his tireless activism.  In addition to providing researchers with ready access to Dr. Garcia’s papers, the effort also includes an online exhibit, enabling a wide audience to learn about Dr. Garcia’s life and legacy.
