Work at HAI
At History Associates, Thea oversees the company’s internal operations and supports the President and senior management. Her role focuses on creating and maintaining internal efficiencies to ensure that management and staff provide the highest level of work product to existing and new clients. Thea also provides investigative expertise to research and analytical matters that benefit from her extensive background in the management of corporate investigations.
Path to HAI
Prior to joining HAI, Thea spent more than twenty years undertaking and directing complex investigations for law firms, financial institutions, and Fortune 500 companies, both in the United States and abroad. Thea’s expertise includes locating records from federal and state courts, libraries, Federal Record Centers, and the use of proprietary databases. Thea has conducted thousands of source and witness interviews.
Thea’s investigations won judgements for attorneys, identified fraud in the private and public sector, and helped corporations vet employees and board members. Over the years, she participated in high profile cases including Enron, Wall Street’s collapse and the mortgage-backed securities crisis, the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, and the role of Purdue Pharma, the Sackler family, and prescribing physicians in the opioid epidemic. She received her B.A. from Washington College where she majored in humanities, and her M.A. from Georgetown University with a concentration in social policy. Thea is a licensed private investigator.
