Research Historian

Work at HAI

Rigby joined HAI in October 2021. As a research historian, she conducts in-depth historical and litigation research and supports content development efforts for a variety of corporate, legal, museum, and government clients.

Path to HAI

Before joining HAI, Rigby worked at the University of Maryland Special Collections and University Archives, where she led research for a voting rights exhibition celebrating the centennial of the 19th Amendment. She also spent semesters as a Curatorial Intern at the Heurich House Museum in Dupont Circle and as an Archives Intern at Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage.

Rigby received her B.A. in History from the University of Maryland, College Park in May 2021. Her undergraduate honors thesis was about motherhood on Southern Appalachian subsistence farms in the 1920s and 1930s, and her broader historical focus is on 20th century American women, gender, and sexuality.
