Researching Corporate Genealogy

Corporate genealogies can be used by attorneys to advise their clients on a range of legal matters.

This article describes several sources for researching corporate genealogy and discusses how to trace a company’s history from incorporation, through merger and acquisition transactions, to bankruptcy or dissolution.  It builds upon a previous article on historical research published in this newsletter entitled “The Value of Historical Research to In-House Counsel” (June 2009).
