Westat: Foundations of Success (2015)
The Westat company history book was written as a tribute to the employees who have consistently fostered a culture of collaboration and customer focus. The book highlights the people and projects that made Westat a successful research services firm over the years– from its beginnings as a small Denver-based startup into an employee-owned statistical services and survey research firm based in Rockville, Maryland.
History Associates worked closely with Westat board members to research and write the early history of the company and conducted 18 oral history interviews with key figures in Westat’s history. Historians also worked with the board to help edit the final chapter of the book, which focuses on company developments since it embarked on its employee stock ownership plan in 1978.
The book is filled with sidebars of interesting stories and is heavily illustrated with photos, brochure illustrations, and scanned memos with handwritten notations. It also includes an appendix listing all founders, board members, and senior management, plus a photo gallery saluting the many long-term employees of the company.
Hard cover book with dust jacket, 9.25” x 10.75”, 88 full color pages. Published in 2015.
