This article focuses on the numerous ways in which history benefits in-house attorneys and corporate decision-makers. It examines how, through diligent historical research, attorneys can learn about their company’s past and leverage this knowledge both to advise corporate managers and potentially help to mitigate current and future legal liabilities. The article also provides a short guide listing electronic and print resources and records repositories that professional historians typically target when researching a company history.
