Bausch + Lomb Corporate History Book
Client Challenge
In 2003, Bausch + Lomb sought a scrapbook-like history to commemorate the company’s 150th anniversary. The budget was tight and the schedule even tighter. “We quickly realized that we needed to enlist experts,” recalled Daniel Ritz, Director of Investor Relations for the company at the time.
Bausch + Lomb wanted someone who could understand the firm’s story, identify the most meaningful events and most interesting highlights of its 150 year history, collect images and artifacts, and bring them all together in an illustrated corporate history book.
“Luckily, we found HAI,” Ritz said.
Uncovering Insights
Working closely with Bausch + Lomb and its graphic designers, HAI conducted research in a wide range of corporate and public archives to develop a cohesive narrative and collect a wealth of compelling images and artifacts to tell Bausch + Lomb’s story.
These efforts resulted in a brief yet authoritative text that illuminated a corporate history previously unknown even to the Bausch + Lomb management team.

Outcome
“With HAI’s help we were able to meet our production deadlines and produce a company history that is a well-written and beautifully crafted memento of a corporate milestone we are proud to share with employees, customers, and shareholders,” Daniel Ritz concluded.
