Director of Finance | The Numbers Guy
“Not your typical accountant, I love the forensic aspect of finance and enjoy finding fun and creative ways to solve problems and create solutions.”
Work at HAI
Jeff joined HAI in July 2017 as Senior Accountant and was promoted to Director of Finance in October 2018. At the time of Jeff’s hire, HAI was in the process of migrating to their current project management and finance software. With Jeff’s assistance, HAI’s management team successfully completed the conversion in December 2017.
Jeff is responsible for all aspects of HAI’s finance. He produces timely and accurate monthly financial statements, ensures that all vendors and employees are paid in a timely fashion, manages the daily cash flow, reviews and assists in the submission of client proposals, prepares monthly reports for HAI’s Finance Committee and the Board of Directors, and boosts office morale with frequent visits from his four-legged friend Koby.
Path to HAI
Jeff brings a wealth of knowledge to our finance team. He came to HAI with over 25 years of financial experience across several industries, including construction management, litigation support, cable infrastructure, access control, and real estate portfolio management. In past positions, Jeff took on greater responsibility over time—this included negotiating and implementing a successful restructuring of a $10 million company that had filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and in the process, guaranteed future employment for over 200 employees.
An adventurer at heart, Jeff has jumped out of a few airplanes, skied on mountains he had no business being on, and ridden a dog sled in the Rocky Mountains. At this point in his life he has slowed down quite a bit, but enjoys camping, mountain bike riding, and all kinds of music. He spends as much time as he can with his best friend Koby, who has become HAI’s beloved office dog.
Jeff holds an associate’s degree in business administration from Montgomery College and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Frostburg State College.
