Expert Witness

A number of HAI senior historians have worked as expert witnesses in matters including toxic torts; product liability matters; water rights claims; legislative history questions; and Native American land, water, and treaty rights disputes. Our historians are often asked to testify to the scope and thoroughness of HAI's research and the authenticity of the documentary evidence collected. This enables attorneys to effectively introduce historical evidence within the proper context. In some cases attorneys have asked an HAI historian to review the entire historical record pertaining to a certain issue or event and provide an expert opinion on the relationship of the historical evidence to the issues in dispute.

While HAI historians are expert in a number of litigation-related historical fields, on several occasions we have helped our clients by identifying and providing biographical and professional information regarding other historians whose expertise meets a particular case-related need.
