HAI historians work with companies, organizations, and other institutions worldwide to discover and interpret crucial historical information. We provide expert guidance and assistance to clients wishing to preserve and utilize their invaluable historical assets. In an increasingly global environment, no institution can afford to ignore the international implications of its historical heritage. HAI's International Division meets this growing demand by placing its extensive experience in research and archival management projects at the service of private, public, and nonprofit organizations located in the United States and overseas. We are one of the few historical firms capable of serving American organizations needing historical research or archival services relating to their overseas operations, foreign organizations looking for professional historical and archival services, and foreign organizations requiring specialized research in the United States. The International Division has undertaken research for a variety of American and European clients on World War II litigation cases involving banking, forced labor, looted art, and other Holocaust-related issues. It has documented the history of foreign firms for US clients considering new acquisitions overseas and performed corporate succession research to trace foreign owners of subsidiaries operating in the United States. HAI staffers have also undertaken archival projects for both foreign companies and American firms with overseas subsidiaries. Members of the HAI international team are proficient in German, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, and Arabic and are expert at working at national archives in Berlin, Vienna, Paris, London, Budapest, Brussels, Amsterdam, Moscow, Warsaw, Madrid, Rome, and Rabat. We have also carried out projects using a wide variety of local records from corporate archives, city halls, tax offices, insurance companies, and museums.
