Many National Park Service (NPS) sites maintain archival collections that support their resource and cultural management activities. These collections contain important historical and operational records about the sites, but many are unprocessed and largely inaccessible. Our archive services team helped process and organize eleven different NPS sites since 2001.

California EdisonIn late 2004 Southern California Edison (SCE) made the decision to donate a century of its photographs and historical print records to the Henry E. Huntington Library and Botanical Gardens in San Marino. Our archive services team performed a records survey, provided recommendations, and then prepared these historical records for transfer to the Huntington Library. SCE received public relations and cost saving benefits, while the community received access to thousands of high quality images and print records documenting the development of Southern California.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers responds to emergencies across America, but the historians in charge of documenting those responses lacked a comprehensive plan to protect the Corps’ historical materials in the event of a disaster. The History Associates archive team produced a detailed disaster recovery and salvage plan and then reinforced these procedures by conducting an onsite training session.
