HAI Historian Robert C. Williams Authors New Book

Dr. Robert C. Williams of History Associates Incorporated (HAI) based in Rockville, Maryland, has authored The Historian's Toolbox: A Student's Guide to the Theory and Craft of History.

The Historian's Toolbox introduces students to the theory, craft, and methods of history and provides a series of "tools" to help them read, research, and understand the past. The book further guides readers through the "workshop" of history where the historian's "toolbox" (containing documents, sources, footnotes, chronologies, and other items) is unlocked. The result is a provocative and useful manual for the study, comprehension, and communication of history. Williams, Vail professor of history at Davidson College in North Carolina and one of the founding members of HAI, is the author of numerous books on modern Russian, European, and American history.

History Associates provides business, government, and nonprofit organizations with professional historical research, writing, archives, and records management services. For more information, call (301) 279-9697 or visit www.historyassociates.com.
