History Associates Assists in Locating Historic Images for CSI Show
Early Look at The Mob Museum Seen on Episode

Viewers of the hit TV show CSI will get a glimpse of the brand new National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement in Las Vegas before it opens to the public next year.  History Associates is part of the museum's development and creative team and assisted in locating historic images for the show.

In the episode, which airs on Wednesday, October 12, the CSIs attend the gala grand opening of The Mob Museum and end up witnessing an attempted hit on mob lawyer and former mayor Oscar Goodman.  The real Mayor Goldman portrays himself in the episode.

History Associates is providing historical image research for the museum project as part of a world-class development team, which includes Westlake Reed Leskosky (WRL), a nationally recognized design and engineering firm; Gallagher & Associates, an interdisciplinary design firm; Chattel Architecture, Planning & Preservation, Inc., consulting preservation architect; and Kathleen Hickey Barrie of Barrie Projects, curator; Northern Light Productions, film production; Snibbe Interactive, social immersive media; Pacific Studios, exhibit fabrication; AVI-SPI, digital media; and Boston Productions, Inc., interactive, multi-media, and AV integration.

The Mob Museum will reside in the former United States Post Office and Court House in downtown Las Vegas.  Planned as a modern museum experience, it will tell the story of organized crime and law enforcement in America through the display of rare artifacts and photos, high-tech theater experiences, and interactive environments.  The historic building has special significance, as it hosted the Kefauver Committee hearings, which were held to investigate the world of organized crime in the early 1950s.  The actual courtroom is still there and is being restored to look as it did during the hearings.

In honor of the episode, entitled "Maid Man," The Mob Museum hosts a "CSI screening party" at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas during the show.
