History Associates Incorporated Completes Work on "Titanic - Built in Belfast, Northern Ireland" Exhibit
History Associates Incorporated (HAI) historians have completed content development work on the exhibition"Titanic - Built in Belfast, Northern Ireland." In connection with Hargrove, Inc. and National Museums Northern Ireland, HAI drafted text, compiled imagery, and helped compose an accompanying brochure that follows Belfast's transformation from its nineteenth-century industrial roots into a dynamic twenty-first-century cosmopolitan city.
The exhibit is being put on by National Museums Northern Ireland and its partner organizations. Featuring never-before-seen images and moving footage of the Titanic in Belfast prior to departure on her fateful maiden voyage, the exhibition focuses on the engineering and technological innovations that went into the creation of the ship. The exhibition also highlights the changing face of a post-conflict Northern Ireland and exciting opportunities for the future in the region.
"Titanic - Built in Belfast, Northern Ireland" is on display at Union Station in Washington, DC, in connection with the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, from June 26 through July 15, 2007.
