Jason H. Gart
Senior historian Jason H. Gart manages a variety of projects for History Associates. He is an expert on World War II and Cold War-era military procurement and has experience conducting research on an array of subjects, including business and institutional history, environmental history, and the history of science and technology. Dr. Gart has provided expert witness testimony on a cultural resource management issue and recently completed a book-length history of a Big Four accounting firm. He is currently managing a multi-year oral history project for the National Institutes of Health.
Dr. Gart is an active member of the Society for History in the Federal Government and currently serves as a peer reviewer for an academic journal. He has presented papers at the annual meetings of the National Council on Public History and the Organization of American Historians. His first book, Papago Park: A History of Hole-in-the-Rock from 1848-1995, was published in 1998.
Dr. Gart graduated cum laude with a B.S. in history and politics from Drexel University and received an MA in public history and his Ph.D. in modern United States and Western history from Arizona State University. His dissertation examined the history of the electronics and aerospace industries in Arizona.
