James Nelson
Archivist James Nelson is currently working for History Associates assessing and developing archival collections. Prior to joining History Associates, he worked at the Smithsonian National Museum of American History as part of a team developing a museum theatre production based on the lives of women inventors. He interned with the National Park Service's Heritage Education Services, assisting in the creation and maintenance of travel guides and lesson plans based on locations found on the National Register. Mr. Nelson also served as the public history liaison and acting director of grants at the Humanities Council of Washington, DC.
Mr. Nelson received his MA in history with a concentration in public history from American University and graduated magna cum laude with a BA in history and political science from the University of Delaware.
