Gregory Pike, C.A.

Archivist Gregory Pike, C.A., provides a wide variety of expertise on digitization projects for History Associates. Serving for over a decade as digital archivist for a project at the National Library of Medicine, he currently assists in project planning, creates highly detailed metadata records, oversees scanning and project workflow, and performs quality control. He has experience in copyright law and permission-seeking procedures, EAD encoding, and using MS Access databases.

In 2005 Mr. Pike won a Mid-Atlantic Regional Archives Conference (MARAC) finding aid award for his work in creating the finding aid for the Joshua Lederberg Papers and in 2008 was part of the team at NLM who won the C. Herbert Finch Online Publication Award for an online exhibit on the life of medical philanthropist and health activist Mary Lasker.

An active member of MARAC and the Society of American Archivists (SAA), Mr. Pike has served on several committees and given roundtable presentations. He has been a certified archivist through the Academy of Certified Archivists since 2000.

Mr. Pike earned his bachelor’s degree in history from Juniata College in Pennsylvania and holds a master’s degree in library science with an archival concentration from the University of Maryland at College Park.  He also holds a professional law degree from Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware.
