Garry Adelman

Historian Garry Adelman leads History Associates' interpretive planning services, having managed projects for seven Virginia Civil War battlefields. He has also managed scores of other book, exhibit, research, and interpretive planning projects on a variety of topics as well. History Associates' production specialist, Mr. Adelman has facilitated the design and printing of more than twenty history books and also serves as the deputy director of the History Division.

Mr. Adelman earned a BA in business from Michigan State University and his MA in applied history from Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. He is the author, co-author, or editor of more than twenty books and articles concerning the Civil War and has appeared as a speaker in various historical productions, including two aired on the History Channel. His Devil's Den: A History and Guide has sold more than 20,000 copies and won the 1997 Bachelder-Coddington Award for the best new book on the Battle of Gettysburg. Mr. Adelman serves as vice president of the Center for Civil War Photography and is a Licensed Battlefield Guide at Gettysburg.
