Gabriele G. Carey, C.A., directs History Associates' West Coast office in the Los Angeles area and has worked for History Associates since 1989 as a senior archivist and senior historian. She is a member of the Academy of Certified Archivists and sits on the California Historical Records Advisory Board. Dr. Carey has provided records management and archives assessment and processing services for a number of California's local governments, including the counties of Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and Santa Clara, and the cities of Corona and Santa Barbara. Other clients have included the state of California, the University of California, the Seabee Museum in Port Hueneme, and environmental/cultural resources firms. Dr. Carey also manages litigation research projects and conducts research regarding land use issues, Native American claims, and water rights disputes. She brings her extensive knowledge of local, state, and federal sources to historical investigations of environmental sites and occupational health matters. Dr. Carey holds bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in history from the University of California at Riverside and a master's degree in German language and literature from the University of California at Los Angeles.
