History Associates Archivist Receives NARA Certificate of Federal Records Management Training
Rachel Ban, senior archivist/records manager and deputy director for Information Resources Management Services, recently completed the five-course Federal Records Management Training Program sponsored by the National Archives and Records Administration. The program focuses on five different topic areas, including the creation and maintenance of agency business information, records scheduling, implementation, asset and risk management, and records management program development. These courses are designed to educate current and prospective federal records managers in the legal, administrative, and practical issues associated with their jobs.
This training supplements Ms. Ban's extensive experience working with federal records. With this knowledge Ms. Ban will be able to more effectively assist federal agencies in raising awareness of federal records management requirements and implement records management policies and procedures unique within the federal environment.
