Company History Case Study
Bausch & Lomb: Illustrated Corporate History
In 2003, Bausch & Lomb sought a “scrapbook-esque” history to commemorate the company’s 150th anniversary. The budget was tight and the schedule even tighter. “We quickly realized that we needed to enlist experts,” recalled Daniel Ritz, director of investor relations for the company.
“Luckily, we found History Associates,” he said.
Bausch & Lomb wanted someone who could understand the firm’s story, and identify the most meaningful events and most interesting highlights of its 150 year history, collect images and artifacts, and bring them all together in an illustrated corporate history book.
A Quality Company History Book
Working closely with Bausch & Lomb and its graphic designers, History Associates historian Lee Sullivan conducted research in a wide range of corporate and public archives to identify a wealth of compelling images and artifacts.
For the anniversary, Sullivan wrote a brief yet authoritative text and in the process told the Bausch & Lomb management team more about their corporate history than even they had known. “With History Associates’ help we were able to meet our production deadlines and produce a company history that is a well-written and beautifully crafted memento of a corporate milestone we are proud to share with employees, customers, and shareholders,” Ritz concluded.
The text of the corporate history book, Bausch & Lomb: Perfecting Vision, Enhancing Life for 150 Years, can be seen on Bausch & Lomb’s company history web page.
